Committee — OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT
This bill, as amended, would establish a Seal of Civic Excellence and Engagement upon high school graduation for high-achieving students in the disciplines of civics and social studies. Qualifying students in participating districts would have the seal affixed to their diploma and noted on their transcript. The committee believes this would be a timely addition to the “More Time on Civics” legislation (SB 216) ratified in 2023. Vote 17-0.
