Committee — OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT

The majority of the Judiciary Committee believes this bill should be found ought to pass with amendment. The amendment would update the NH statutes regarding marriage applicants as well as allow marriage applicants to fill out their form before filing it with the town clerk as long as the form is signed in front of the town clerk. This bill came at the request of the town clerk in Milford and the committee agreed it would be a commonsense update to this statute. The in-person signature component would remain in place. Vote 17-1.
