Committee — OUGHT TO PASS WITH AMENDMENT
This bill, as amended, addresses several regulatory issues that many small egg producers were not aware are already in current law causing them to be in noncompliance. The committee’s amendment clarifies these regulatory requirements, protects our small egg producers from unnecessary regulations, and clearly defines what constitutes a large commercial egg producer. These regulatory requirements having to do with the sale and labeling of eggs ensure food safety and consumer protection. The committee is proud to pass this “eggcellent” bill. Vote 15-0.
