Committee — INEXPEDIENT TO LEGISLATE
The original intent of this bill sought to create a single standard operating procedure to govern the development of election law procedures, election law forms and election law templates. Unfortunately, in drafting, the concept of a system as defined by procedure morphed into a large, complex computerized system with an even larger fiscal note. Some members of the committee believe the original intent of the bill has significant merit and it should not have been given an enormous fiscal note. However, as drafted, the committee believed the bill to be unwieldy and moved Inexpedient to Legislate. Vote 16-0.
