This bill repeals the state license for mold assessors and remediators, a regulation that currently serves an incredibly narrow scope. Because the law exempts most general contractors and property owners, it functions as an inconsistent barrier to entry rather than a comprehensive public safety measure. National industry standard certifications already provide the necessary oversight required by insurance companies and lenders, making state licensing a redundant layer of bureaucracy. By eliminating this unnecessary hurdle, New Hampshire can foster a more competitive market, lower costs for homeowners, and streamline the state’s regulatory code. Vote 15-0.
