The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2023 and referred to the House Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 13, 2023. The committee met in executive session on March 7, 2023 to vote on its recommendation. The committee recommended that the House make no recommendation. On March 22, 2023 the House adopted “Lay HB204 on Table” on a division vote 320–61, on a motion by Rep. Rick Ladd. The bill died on the table when the session ended on October 26, 2023, having been set aside and never taken back up.
