The Story

The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2022-0826s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2022-0826s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 17, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On March 17, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 31, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 31, 2022 and was referred to the House Environment and Agriculture committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2022. The committee met in executive session on April 12, 2022 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 21, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. On April 21, 2022 the bill was referred to the Ways and Means committee. The committee held work sessions on April 25, 2022 and April 26, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 4, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2022-2092e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. An enrolled bill amendment (2022-2092E) was considered. These correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 17, 2022, making it Chapter 226 of the session laws. It took effect on July 1, 2022.
