HB 571 (2022)

repealing the prohibition against OHRV travel on Hoit Road Marsh.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Fish & Game
  • Chapter law: 30

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on September 15, 2021. The committee met in executive session on October 27, 2021 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 11–10. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On January 6, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a division vote 189–158. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 31, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 21, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 3, 2022, making it Chapter 30 of the session laws.
