The committee met in executive session on October 26, 2021 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 21–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2021-2172h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (2021-2172h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 6, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On January 6, 2022 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 15, 2022. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On March 24, 2022 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. The bill died on the table under Senate Rule 3-23 at adjournment on September 15, 2022, having been set aside and never taken back up.
