HB 410 (2022)

establishing a commission to study the assessing of power generation and utility transmission

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Science, Technology and Energy
  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
  • Subject: Study Committees and Commissions
  • Chapter law: 49

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on September 15, 2021. The committee met in executive session on October 26, 2021 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 19–2 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2021-2216h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (2021-2216h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 5, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On January 6, 2022 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 7, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2022-1516s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2022-1516s) was rejected on a voice vote on April 21, 2022. On April 21, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 12, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 20, 2022, making it Chapter 49 of the session laws.
