HB 381-FN (2022)

relative to laboratory testing.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Health and Human Services
  • Subject: Public and Mental Health
  • Chapter law: 249

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 14–7. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On April 8, 2021 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 264–89. It crossed to the Senate on April 8, 2021 and was referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate send it back to committee, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 20, 2021 the Senate voted to send it back to committee on a voice vote. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-2159s). The committee's amendment (2021-2159s) was adopted on a voice vote on January 5, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On January 5, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it with changes and ordered it to a third reading. On May 12, 2022 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Mark Pearson. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 24, 2022, making it Chapter 249 of the session laws.
