HB 314 (2022)

relative to homestead food operation licensure.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Commerce
  • Subject: Agriculture
  • Chapter law: 133

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on September 22, 2021. The committee met in executive session on October 26, 2021 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2021-2155h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2021-2155h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 5, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On January 5, 2022 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On January 5, 2022 the bill was referred to the Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 10, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 5, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (2022-1993e) was adopted on a voice vote on May 12, 2022. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2022-1993E) was considered to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 7, 2022, making it Chapter 133 of the session laws.
