HB 1667 (2022)

relative to the standard and optional veterans' tax credits and the all veterans' tax credit.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Election Law and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Taxes - Local
  • Chapter law: 121

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2022 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee met in executive session on March 1, 2022 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 10–8. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 17, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 205–127. It crossed to the Senate on March 17, 2022 and was referred to the Senate Election Law and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 18, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 28, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 12, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 27, 2022, making it Chapter 121 of the session laws.
