HB 1507 (2022)

requiring childcare investigatory findings to be timely published.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Health and Human Services
  • Subject: Children
  • Chapter law: 202

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2022 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 2022. The committee met in executive session on January 31, 2022 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 10, 2022 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2022-1515s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2022-1515s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 21, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On April 21, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 12, 2022 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Mark Pearson. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 17, 2022, making it Chapter 202 of the session laws.
