HB 1269 (2022)

relative to certain legislative study committees.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Legislative Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: State Government
  • Chapter law: 323

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2022 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held work sessions on February 2, 2022 and February 23, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2022-0782), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2022-0782h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 15, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On March 15, 2022 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 17, 2022 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 30, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2022-1682s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2022-1682s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 28, 2022, changing the text of the bill. On April 28, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 12, 2022 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Greene. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2022-2120e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 8, 2022, making it Chapter 323 of the session laws.
