The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 2022 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee met in executive session on January 20, 2022 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2022-0091h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 16, 2022 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. The committee's amendment (2022-0091h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 16, 2022, changing the text of the bill. It crossed to the Senate on February 24, 2022 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 9, 2022. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 17, 2022 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (2022-1228e) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2022. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on March 31, 2022 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2022-1228E) was considered to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on April 18, 2022, making it Chapter 21 of the session laws.
