The Story

The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-0774s). The committee's amendment (2021-0774s) was adopted on a roll call 24–0 on March 18, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On March 18, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 27, 2021 on a proposed non-germane amendment (2021-1149h). The committee held work sessions on May 11, 2021 and May 13, 2021. On June 24, 2021 the House adopted the conference report (2021-1994c) on a voice vote. On June 24, 2021 the Senate adopted the conference report (2021-1994c) on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2021-2049e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 9, 2021, making it Chapter 121 of the session laws.
