relative to minimizing environmental impacts on the habitats of endangered or threatened species.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Fish and Game and Marine Resources
  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
  • Subject: Fish & Game

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-0315s). The committee's amendment (2021-0315s) was rejected on a roll call 1–23 on February 18, 2021. On February 18, 2021 the Senate adopted “Reconsideration on Committee Amendment 2021-0315, RC 24Y-0N”, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. The committee's amendment (2021-0315s) was rejected on a roll call 0–24 on February 18, 2021. A floor amendment (2021-0416s), offered by Sen. Bradley, was adopted on a roll call 21–3 on February 18, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On February 18, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 25, 2021 and was referred to the House Fish and Game and Marine Resources committee. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 10–8. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On June 3, 2021 the House voted to pass it on a division vote 190–181. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2021-2051e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on August 10, 2021, making it Chapter 203 of the session laws. It took effect on October 9, 2021.
