HB 99 (2021)

relative to seasonal platforms on public waters of the state.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
  • Subject: Environment - Conservation
  • Chapter law: 181

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2021-0203h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2021-0203h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 24, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On February 24, 2021 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 2021 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-1122s). The committee's amendment (2021-1122s) was adopted on a roll call 24–0 on April 22, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On April 22, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes and ordered it to a third reading. On June 10, 2021 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment 2021-1122s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Renzullo. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2021-2059e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on August 10, 2021, making it Chapter 181 of the session laws.
