  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2021-2022
  • House committee: Transportation
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Study Committees and Commissions
  • Chapter law: 141

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee met in executive session on February 5, 2021 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 18–1 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 24, 2021 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 2021 and was referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-0865s). The committee's amendment (2021-0865s) was adopted on a roll call 24–0 on March 25, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On March 25, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes and ordered it to a third reading. On June 10, 2021 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment 2021-0865s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Walsh. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 23, 2021, making it Chapter 141 of the session laws.
