HB 309 (2021)
relative to the computation of renewable energy credits and clarifying certain renewable energy classes.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2021-2022
- House committee: Science, Technology and Energy
- Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
- Subject: Energy and Utilities
- Chapter law: 138
The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2021 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee voted unanimously, 21–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. It crossed to the Senate on April 1, 2021 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. On April 7, 2021 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. On April 7, 2021 the House failed “Reconsider” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Jason Osborne. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-1548s). The committee's amendment (2021-1548s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 20, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On May 20, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 10, 2021 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment 2021-1548s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Vose. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 23, 2021, making it Chapter 138 of the session laws.
