The Story

The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2021-1029h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (2021-1029h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 7, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On April 7, 2021 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on April 8, 2021 and was referred to the Senate Capital Budget committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2021-1785s). The committee's amendment (2021-1785s) was adopted on a voice vote on June 3, 2021, changing the text of the bill. On June 3, 2021 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 3, 2021 the Senate adopted “Without Objection, the Clerk is authorized to make technical and administrative corrections which are necessary to reflect the intent of the Senate, Relative to Bills and Amendments Passed Today”. On June 3, 2021 the Senate adopted “Accedes to House Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Reagan. On June 4, 2021 the House adopted “House Non-Concurs with Senate Amendment 2021-1785s and Requests CofC (Reps. Graham, McConkey, Milz, Jack)” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on June 11, 2021 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. On June 24, 2021 the Senate adopted the conference report (2021-1918c) on a voice vote. On June 24, 2021 the House adopted the conference report (2021-1918c) on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2021 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 9, 2021, making it Chapter 107 of the session laws.
