relative to eligibility for the governor's scholarship program.
- Status: Killed
- Term: 2019-2020
- House committee: Education
- Senate committee: Education and Workforce Development
- Subject: Education - Finance
The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 2019 and referred to the Senate Education and Workforce Development committee. The committee held public hearings on January 29, 2019 and March 5, 2019. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2019-1132s). On March 27, 2019 the Senate adopted “Special Order to the beginning of the regular calendar, Without Objection”. The committee's amendment (2019-1132s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2019, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2019 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 9, 2019. The committee met in executive session on April 30, 2019 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee met in executive session on October 23, 2019 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 8, 2020 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
