The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2019 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 2019. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 14, 2019 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 20, 2019 and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 16, 2019. The committee held work sessions on April 23, 2019, April 30, 2019, May 16, 2019 and May 22, 2019. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2019-2280h) by a vote of 18–2, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (2019-2280h) was adopted on a voice vote on June 6, 2019, changing the text of the bill. On June 6, 2019 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote.
