- Term: 2019-2020
- House committee: Ways and Means
- Senate committee: Ways and Means
- Subject: Miscellaneous
- Chapter law: 280
The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 2019 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 13, 2019. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 21, 2019 the Senate voted to pass it and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2019. The committee held work sessions on April 16, 2019, April 23, 2019, May 7, 2019, May 16, 2019 and May 22, 2019. The committee met in executive session on May 28, 2019 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2019-2275h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (2019-2275h) was adopted on a voice vote on June 6, 2019, changing the text of the bill. On June 6, 2019 the House voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 308–25. On June 13, 2019 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Feltes. The bill was enrolled on June 27, 2019 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2019-2631e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 19, 2019, making it Chapter 280 of the session laws.
