The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 2019 and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 19, 2019. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2019-0610s). The committee's amendment (2019-0610s) was rejected on a voice vote on March 7, 2019. A floor amendment (2019-0738s), offered by Sen. Sherman, was adopted on a voice vote on March 7, 2019, changing the text of the bill. On March 7, 2019 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The committee held a work session on April 25, 2019. The committee met in executive session on May 7, 2019 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 19–2 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 23, 2019 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2019-2407e) was adopted on a voice vote on June 5, 2019. These correct technical errors found after passage.
