SB 73 (2018)

relative to septic requirements in conversions to accessory dwellings.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2017-2018
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Housing

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2017 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 25, 2017. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 23, 2017 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Resources, Recreation and Development committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2017. The committee held a work session on May 2, 2017. The committee met in executive session on May 2, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held a work session on September 13, 2017. The committee met in executive session on October 18, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 3, 2018 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
