The Story

On February 22, 2018 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. On March 22, 2018 the Senate adopted “Remove From Table” on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. On March 22, 2018 the Senate rejected a motion to kill it on a voice vote. A floor amendment (2018-1182s), offered by Sen. Bradley, was adopted on a voice vote on March 22, 2018, changing the text of the bill. On March 22, 2018 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 22, 2018 and was referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 3, 2018. The committee held a work session on April 6, 2018. The committee met in executive session on April 11, 2018 to vote on its recommendation. The minority of the committee recommended that the House pass it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 15–11, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On April 19, 2018 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 180–154.
