The Story

The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2018-1093s). The committee's amendment (2018-1093s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 21, 2018, changing the text of the bill. On March 21, 2018 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 22, 2018 and was referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 2018. The committee held a work session on April 17, 2018. The committee met in executive session on April 17, 2018 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 2, 2018 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 10, 2018 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 8, 2018, making it Chapter 221 of the session laws.
