The Story

The committee's amendment (2018-0317s) was adopted on a voice vote on February 1, 2018, changing the text of the bill. On February 1, 2018 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 7, 2018 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2018. The committee voted 17–1 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2018-1342h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 2, 2018 the Senate voted to reject the other chamber's changes on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. James Gray. On May 10, 2018 the House adopted “House Accedes to Senate Request for CofC” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. J. Belanger.
