The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 2018 and referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 9, 2018. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. It crossed to the House on March 7, 2018 and was referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 28, 2018. The committee held a work session on April 3, 2018. The committee met in executive session on April 10, 2018 to vote on its recommendation. The minority of the committee recommended that the House kill it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 11–6, and the report was placed on the regular calendar.
