The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 2017 and referred to the House Transportation committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Public Works and Highways committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on February 14, 2017. The committee met in executive session on February 28, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on May 17, 2017 and September 21, 2017. The committee met in executive session on September 21, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 15–1 to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 3, 2018 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
