HB 488 (2017)

establishing a state parks advisory council.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2017-2018
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Environment - Conservation
  • Chapter law: 181

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2017 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 24, 2017. The committee met in executive session on January 31, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 2017 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 16, 2017 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 15, 2017. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2017-0878s). The committee's amendment (2017-0878s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 23, 2017, changing the text of the bill. On March 23, 2017 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 18, 2017 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment 0878s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Christensen. An enrolled bill amendment (2017-1956e) was adopted on a voice vote on May 31, 2017. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 8, 2017 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2017-1956e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 29, 2017, making it Chapter 181 of the session laws.
