relative to exemptions from licensure by the board of medical imaging and radiation therapy.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2017-2018
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Occupational Regulation

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2017 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 2017. The committee met in executive session on March 1, 2017 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 20–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2017-0641h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2017-0641h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 8, 2017, changing the text of the bill. On March 8, 2017 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 9, 2017 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 19, 2017. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2017-2018s). The committee's amendment (2017-2018s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 31, 2017, changing the text of the bill. On May 31, 2017 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 8, 2017 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment 2018s” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. McGuire. The bill was enrolled on June 22, 2017 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2017-2355e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 10, 2017, making it Chapter 217 of the session laws.
