On March 10, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2016-1055s). On March 24, 2016 the Senate adopted “Special Order SB 533 to After Lunch, Without Objection”. A committee of conference met on May 23, 2016, May 24, 2016, May 25, 2016 and May 26, 2016 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill.
