The Story

The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2016-1060s). The committee's amendment (1060s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2016, changing the text of the bill. On March 24, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 2016. The committee met in executive session on April 12, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The minority of the committee recommended that the House pass it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 16–4, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On April 20, 2016 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
