The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 18, 2016. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2016-0667s). On March 3, 2016 the Senate adopted “Special Order SB 487 to after the Committee on Education, Without Objection”. On March 3, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 10, 2016 and was referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 29, 2016. The committee met in executive session on April 12, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2016-1301h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar.
