The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2016. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2016-0624s). The committee's amendment (0624s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 3, 2016, changing the text of the bill. On March 3, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 17, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 23, 2016 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 26, 2016. The committee met in executive session on May 3, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 9–6 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar.
