SB 345 (2016)
relative to the definition of agritourism.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: Environment and Agriculture
- Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
- Subject: Agriculture
- Chapter law: 267
The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 2, 2016. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2016-0962s). The committee's amendment (0962s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 17, 2016, changing the text of the bill. On March 17, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 23, 2016 and was referred to the House Environment and Agriculture committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 2016. The committee met in executive session on April 12, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2016-1286h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2016-1286h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 20, 2016, changing the text of the bill. On April 20, 2016 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 12, 2016 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Regina Birdsell. An enrolled bill amendment (2016-2029e) was adopted on a voice vote on May 19, 2016. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 1, 2016 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2016-2029e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 16, 2016, making it Chapter 267 of the session laws.
