relative to breastfeeding.

  • Status: Died on the table
  • Term: 2015-2016
  • House committee: Commerce and Consumer Affairs
  • Senate committee: Commerce
  • Subject: Miscellaneous

The Story

It was introduced on January 29, 2015 and referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0707s). The committee's amendment (0707s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 12, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 12, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 31, 2015. The committee held work sessions on April 28, 2015 and May 7, 2015. The committee met in executive session on May 19, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on October 6, 2015, October 13, 2015 and October 20, 2015. The committee met in executive session on October 27, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 19–1 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-2499h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on January 6, 2016. On January 6, 2016 the House adopted “Special Order to next order of business” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. John Hunt. On January 6, 2016 the House voted to lay it on the table on a roll call 188–158, on a motion by Rep. John Hunt. The bill died on the table when the session ended on July 27, 2016, having been set aside and never taken back up.
