- Status: Killed
- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: Ways and Means
- Subject: Gambling
The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 2015. The committee met in executive session on March 3, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on September 15, 2015, September 22, 2015, September 29, 2015, October 8, 2015 and October 13, 2015. The committee met in executive session on October 14, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-2474h), by a vote of 12–7. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On January 20, 2016 the House adopted “Special Order to first order of business after guest speaker” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Abrami. On January 20, 2016 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 200–129.
