HB 295 (2016)

correcting a reference in the housing law to municipal agreements regarding the construction of parking facilities.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2015-2016
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Housing
  • Chapter law: 21

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 12, 2015. The committee met in executive session on February 17, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee retained the bill, holding it for further work rather than reporting it out this year. The committee held work sessions on May 7, 2015, May 21, 2015 and September 8, 2015. The committee met in executive session on October 6, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-2387h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (2015-2387h) was adopted on a voice vote on January 6, 2016, changing the text of the bill. On January 6, 2016 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on February 18, 2016 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 2016. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 31, 2016 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on April 7, 2016 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 25, 2016, making it Chapter 21 of the session laws.
