- Status: Died on the table
- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: Criminal Justice and Public Safety
- Subject: Crimes, Criminal Procedure and Corrections
The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 12, 2016. The committee met in executive session on March 1, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The minority of the committee recommended that the House kill it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2016-0731h) by a vote of 10–4, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 10, 2016 the House voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Burt. The bill died on the table when the session ended on July 27, 2016, having been set aside and never taken back up.
