HB 1474 (2016)

requiring the collection of data relative to firearm related deaths and injuries.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 2015-2016
  • House committee: Criminal Justice and Public Safety
  • Subject: Crimes, Criminal Procedure and Corrections

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Criminal Justice and Public Safety committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on February 19, 2016. The committee met in executive session on March 1, 2016 and March 2, 2016. The minority of the committee recommended that the House pass it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 11–4, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 10, 2016 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 225–80.
