- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: Election Law

The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2016 and referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held public hearings on January 26, 2016 and February 2, 2016. The committee met in executive session on February 18, 2016 to vote on its recommendation. The minority of the committee recommended that the House kill it. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 11–7, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 9, 2016 the House rejected a motion to pass it on a roll call 169–164. On March 9, 2016 the House voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Shurtleff. The bill died on the table when the session ended on July 27, 2016, having been set aside and never taken back up.
