The Story

The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 2015. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0338s), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on February 19, 2015. The committee's amendment (0338s) was adopted on a voice vote on February 19, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On February 19, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 24–0 and ordered it to a third reading. It was introduced on March 4, 2015 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee met in executive session on March 26, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 11–4 to recommend that the House kill it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On April 15, 2015 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
