The Story
The committee held a public hearing on March 4, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 12, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It was introduced on March 12, 2015 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee met in executive session on March 31, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1134h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1134h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 15, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 15, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 7, 2015 the Senate adopted “Sen. Carson Concurs with House Amendment #1134h” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 3, 2015, making it Chapter 82 of the session laws. It took effect on August 1, 2015.
