- Term: 2015-2016

- Senate committee: Energy and Natural Resources
- Subject: Energy and Utilities
- Chapter law: 221
The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held public hearings on February 11, 2015, February 18, 2015 and March 18, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1026s). The committee's amendment (1026s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 26, 2015, changing the text of the bill. A floor amendment (2015-1124s), offered by Sen. Bradley, was adopted on a voice vote on March 26, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 26, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 28, 2015. The committee held a work session on May 5, 2015. The committee met in executive session on May 20, 2015 and May 26, 2015. The committee voted 18–1 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1926h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On June 3, 2015 the House adopted “Special Order to next order of business (Rep Introne)” on a voice vote. The committee's amendment (1926h) was adopted on a voice vote on June 3, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On June 3, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 308–43. On June 4, 2015 the Senate adopted “Sen. Bradley Concurs with House Amendment #1926h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2015-2227EBA) was adopted on a voice vote on June 11, 2015. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2015-2227e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 9, 2015, making it Chapter 221 of the session laws. It took effect on July 9, 2015.
