The Story
It was introduced on January 29, 2015 and referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2015-0702s). The committee's amendment (0702s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 12, 2015, changing the text of the bill. Sen. Pierce proposed a floor amendment (2015-0851s) on March 12, 2015; it was later withdrawn. On March 12, 2015 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Bradley. The bill died on the table under Senate Rule 3-23 at adjournment on September 16, 2015, having been set aside and never taken back up.
