relative to the wellness and primary prevention council.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2015-2016
- House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
- Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
- Subject: Miscellaneous
- Chapter law: 117
The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2015 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 2015. The committee recommended that the Senate send it back to committee. On March 12, 2015 the Senate rejected a motion to send it back to committee on a voice vote. A floor amendment (2015-0797s), offered by Sen. David Watters, was adopted on a voice vote on March 12, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On March 12, 2015 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 12, 2015 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 2015. The committee met in executive session on March 31, 2015 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 12–2 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 2015-1179h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1179h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 15, 2015, changing the text of the bill. On April 15, 2015 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 7, 2015 the Senate adopted “Sen. Carson Concurs with House Amendment #1179h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2015-1730) was adopted on a voice vote on May 13, 2015. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 21, 2015 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2015-1730e) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 8, 2015, making it Chapter 117 of the session laws. It took effect on August 7, 2015.
